Christina specialises in perinatal mental health supporting women with anxiety, depression, birth trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder, stress, emotional regulation, relationships and communication. Christina supports women through their matrescence journey; you do not need to experience severe symptoms to seek therapy. Christina enjoys supporting clients to gain new skills that can be used for a lifetime. Christina is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and EMDR.

Lydia provides psychological therapy and specialised support for women’s health and wellbeing needs across all life stages, and working with mothers, birth-givers, whānau and parents throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond. She offers individual therapy to help with a wide range of areas including but not limited to perinatal mental health and wellbeing, including pregnancy related issues, birth preparation and previous birth trauma, parenting/realtionship issues, chronic pain, pelvic pain, anxiety, depression, trauma, stress and burnout, workplace issues, IBS, Fibromyalgia and vulvodynia and vaginismus.

Please note Lydia is currently on maternity leave.

Pricing/Booking

Sessions are $180 for 50 minutes. Additional fees will apply for reading, reports, liaising with others documentation required by clients. Services

Shelley has 30 years of experience in mental health, with the last 15 years in the specialist area of perinatal mental health, and currently work across both the public and private sectors. She works with women who are experiencing antenatal and postnatal depression, antenatal and postnatal anxiety, women who have experienced birth trauma, grief and loss and women adjusting to all the changes and stressors that becoming a mother can bring.

Her role for Te Whatu Ora Canterbury DHB is within the Plunket Perinatal Adjustment Programme (PPNAP) where she offers home visiting, assessment of mental health and interventions to meet the needs of each woman and their family. She also facilitates groups in this role.

In her private practice Minding Mother, Shelley carries out home visits to provide assessment of maternal mental health and offers Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) amongst other therapies to support women to achieve good mental wellbeing and meet their goals in an individually tailored way.

Shelley is a strong advocate for supporting women in the perinatal period, a time of significant adjustment and transition, after experiencing her own challenging transition to parenthood.
